Personal Health Digital Twins

 

Can intelligent digital technology help people in self-management and continuous monitoring of personal health at their homes while in connectivity with caregivers and assist if something goes wrong with their health in times of lockdowns and restricted movements?

These questions take away the peace of mind of growing number of people on this planet who, by various reasons, have to live or be away from their parents, grandparents and relatives working in different places, cities and countries.

There is increasing number of aging people and those with chronic diseases, as well as  patients discharged from hospitals after post-Coronavirus and other treatments. As a result of the impact of COVID-19, the numbers increased dramatically along with the need in effective managing and monitoring their own health and well-being, easy contacting informal and official caregivers and in effective access to medical services by remote sessions prior to physical visits to medical institutions.

The demand led to significant surge in the population perception of remote health monitoring and various commercial solutions that offer Remote patient monitoring, Telemedicine, Telecare, Telehealth, Ambient Assisted Living (AAL), etc.

 However, most of them still lack of capacity for

  • Holistic intelligent automatic analysis of multiple processes that are related to individual health, life-style, activities, living environment, 
  • Intelligent high-level conversational interactivity in natural language,  
  • Intelligent automatic calculation and interpretation of the ongoing and predicted health status using accumulated human health knowledgebase, 
  • Keeping aging people and patients, their relatives and caregivers updated in an intelligent way that minimizes continuous monitoring overhead,
  • Providing positive psychological interactions with people in natural language conversations, supporting exchange of comments and multimodal message content
  • Having cost level affordable for large population groups.   

 

Intelligent virtual assistant for health and wellbeing monitoring

Our company implements radically new concept: To provide each individual with a personal intimate AI-driven Digital Health Assistant that

  • Communicates with the person at home and his/her caregivers over mobiles and smart speakers in natural language using conversational AI, easily accessible by stakeholders
  • Helps to set and keep planned daily schedule (medications, procedures, visits, etc.)
  • Continuously measures and calculates various biomarkers (vital signs, activities, metabolism, BMI, etc.), psychological/emotional metrics and home living conditions (air quality, safety) that represent human health in every possible detail at current level of medical and wellbeing knowledge 
  • Analyses the health & wellbeing status in real time and as prediction
  • Interprets the results and provide the person with recommendations, reminders and prescriptive analytics regarding best possible actions aimed at keeping health and wellbeing homeostasis   
  • Helps to set remote access to health analytics KPIs and set the working / health managing sessions with formal and informal caregivers
  • Enables psychosocial support, improves resilience, offers medical services extension to people homes
  • Supports new methods of self-management of health under acceptable minimal costs

The Intelligent Personal Digital Twin application runs at AI-, Big Data- and IoT - driven platform PharosN and works as personal dedicated Virtual Nurse at home having basic medical knowledgebase, intelligence and ability to speak like a human, reminding, recommending in time and asking about health and well being status. It, however, fundamentally differs from people in the non-human ability to continuously collect and automatically analyse a large number of biomarkers and other data about psychological state of its host person during the conversations and measuring living conditions. Having such knowledge that is updated in real time, the Intelligent Digital Health Twin informs its host and caregivers about actual or predictable critical health and safety situations and provides the relevant recommendations in the intelligent conversational interactions similar to a real human being.

The solution integrates latest mainstream open source AI, BigData, IoT, microservices, cloud kubernetes software, wearables and smart home sensor hardware, mobile apps with conversational AI linked to wireless technologies such as Bluetooth 5 BLE, Zigbee 3, Wi-Fi 6, Lora, 4G/5G and complies with relevant major standards of cybersecurity. The whole service package is planned to be affordable for individuals who want to improve self-management of own health and caregivers who want to improve their capacity to serve multiple people with improved effiiciency and quality. 

The proof-of-concept prototype was tested in the lab and Horizon 2020 project experiment SmartMozionAge 2020, iTwinBuild, Braine, Wellbased and is being introduced into a number of new international projects.

Our comprehensive project proposal for Horizon 2020 EIC Accelerator grant received the Certificate “Seal of Excellence as COVID-19 Response” in 2020 by the European Commission scored as a high-quality project proposal in a highly competitive evaluation process of 4000 applications and is recommended for investment funding.

We invite the investors interested in financing new AI-driven digital health technologies to review this unique innovation investment potential for releasing the large-scale commercial services for the population in selected countries that run the swarms of personal virtual health assistants in cloud.

At the same time, we welcome caregiver, social care and senior support organisations having the spirit of innovation for collaboration in the pilot prototyping, trials and participation in the joint projects financed by the European grants.
