Business history in brief

The company was established in Austria in 1990 having main office in World Trade Center, Vienna (1991-1995), then moved to its HQ to Donaustadt Vienna. The company is the member of Austrian Economic Trade Chamber.

Our business activities were initially related to distribution of microelectronics components, system integration, implementing of innovative technologies RFID, optical crystals for research and developing advanced ICT solutions for business performance management. Over the past years the company had business collaboration with a number of large international corporations and national partners in countries including

  • Texas Instruments, USA (Jan 1993 – 1998) General distributor and service support partner (notebooks, printers, scientific calculators, Radio Frequency Identification –RFID and Integrated circuits components) for CIS and Eastern Europe. (Effective business growth ended after TI sold the business division to Acer). 
  • Siemens AG, Germany (1996-2001) - outsource software development and training services
  • Micron Electronics, USA (1996 – 1999) - Distributor of computers and components, CIS and Eastern Europe
  • Transcore Inc, Amtech Systems Division (1997-2001) –Distributor and project partner of RFI products for projects in CIS and Eastern Europe
  • Fisher – Rosemount AG, Switzerland (1996-2001), system integration projects  
  • System integration and equipment supply for projects in Russia, Ukraine, and Vietnam (1993-2003)

 

Collaboration with UN organizations

GOLEM company has long history of successful collaboration with United Nations Industrial Development Organization in Vienna providing customised outsourcing applications based on Pharos Navigator® software, reelvant training and consulting. Its specific milestones are as follows:

  • 2019-2020 – Development of the operational models of the generic agro-industrial enterprise and the whole agro-sector to support holistic sustainable industrial management at the business and national governance levels. Implementation the middle-size cheese production factory monitoring system running online as the practical application and its demonstration in agro-industrial project for Mongolia.           
  • 2002-2010 - Support and consulting in the implementation of Pharos suite for sustainable inclusive development industrial management, smart governance and circular economy, includng projects in Colombia, Cuba.
  • 1994 – 2000: Supply of computer systems, hardware, software and communication equipment for the Industrial and Energy Development Projects implemented by UNIDO
  • 1994 – 1998:  Collaboration with Quality, Standardization and Metrology Branch, UNIDO in development and support of UNIDO business performance software packages Business Environment Strategic Toolkit (BEST), Financial Improvement Toolkit (FIT), Measurement Control Chart Toolkit (MCCT) and Pharos Business Navigator

UNIDO Pharos software suite had been implemented in about 3000 small and medium enterprises in several UNIDO capacity building and industrial modernization programmes in Bahrain, China, Colombia, Cuba, Egypt, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Kenya, Lebanon, Poland, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Ukraine, Uganda, United Kingdom, USA, Venezuela, and Zambia. Several relevant milestones of this collaboration in international projects are presented in the page History timeline

 

Participation in international RDI and standardization

Based on strong practical and theoretical experience including our support for the Smart Urbana (H2020 project experiment) and Smart Pedestrian Nets (JPI Urban Europe project) and SmartMozionAge (H2020 project experiment), we contributed to the Focus Group on Data Processing and Management to support IoT and Smart Cities & Communities (FG-DPM), established by ITU-T Study Group 20.

Our contribution was made in definition of 3 use cases as follows:

UC1. Data collection and transformation for Educational processes

UC9. Digital Interface to urban processes for registered legal entities

UC12. Smart sustainable governance assisted by data processing systems for municipalities

Golem Integrated Microelectronics Solutions GmbH is actively making its own history with variety of ongoing cutting-edge R&D integrating best and latest IoT, AI, Big Data and Blockchain technologies into principally new level of intelligent digital twin solutions for health and smart sustainable management and governance in times of accelerating change.

The latest company technology solution and innvation proposal received Seal of Excellence by the European Comission.
